Have You Tried These New Summerville Restaurants?
Summerville is no longer just the “Flower Town in the Pines”—it’s officially becoming a culinary heavyweight. Over the last year, the dining scene here has exploded, with the Nexton area and Historic Downtown leading the charge.
If you haven’t updated your “must-try” list lately, you’re missing out. Here is a look at the freshest faces in the Summerville food scene that have opened their doors (or are about to) in 2025 and early 2026.
🍕 The Nexton Boom: Global Flavors & New York Slices
The Nexton development continues to be the epicenter of Summerville’s growth. This year, the focus shifted toward high-quality international cuisine and elevated comfort food.
- Naan Appetit: Bringing bold, authentic Indian flavors to One Nexton, this spot has quickly become a local favorite for its butter chicken and rich lamb curries. It’s the perfect addition for those craving something beyond the standard Lowcountry fare.
- Woodhaven Pizza: Opened in early 2025, this isn’t just another pizza joint. They serve authentic New York-style pies alongside craft cocktails and live music, making it a great weekend hangout spot.
- FU-O Korean BBQ: For those who like a side of entertainment with their dinner, FU-O is the newest high-end addition to Downtown Nexton. It features interactive tabletop grilling, bringing a much-needed interactive dining experience to the area.
🍽️ Downtown & Beyond: Refined Classics
While Nexton grows, the historic heart of Summerville is also seeing some sophisticated changes.
- La Chev (Relocated): The beloved French-inspired La Cuisine du Chevalier (La Chev) moved from Knightsville to a beautifully renovated 100-year-old property in Downtown Summerville. The new setting perfectly matches the fine-dining vibe of their menu.
- Knightsville Bar & Grill: Taking over the original La Chev location, this new concept offers a more casual, neighborhood atmosphere with a focus on burgers, salads, and classic American favorites.
- Kersey House: Chef Nico Romo (of Laura fame) recently debuted this French bistro and event venue. It’s quickly becoming a go-to for special occasions and upscale date nights.
☕ Casual Bites & Future Cravings
Sometimes you just need a quick, delicious fix or a new spot to grab a drink.
- Neat & Noble Bourbon Bar: Expected to be a cornerstone of the Lofts Downtown Nexton, this refined bar offers an extensive bourbon list and light bites for the “sipping” crowd.
- Nonna’s Olde World Italian Deli: A recent addition that brings the charm of a traditional Italian deli to Summerville, perfect for grabbing a high-quality sandwich on the go.
- Odd Duck Market: Keep your eyes peeled! The popular Park Circle market is slated to bring its unique blend of artisanal goods and prepared foods to Summerville in 2026.
Pro Tip: Many of these new spots, especially in Nexton Square, fill up fast on weekends. If you’re heading to places like Halls Chophouse or Laura, be sure to book your table via Resy a few days in advance.
Summerville’s food scene is evolving faster than ever, moving from “hidden gems” to “destination dining.” Whether you’re a lifelong local or just visiting for the tea, there’s never been a better time to be hungry in the 843.
Which of these new spots are you most excited to try?

January 29, 2026Naan Appetit is fabulous with excellent service! Woodhaven Pizza is pretty good. Service was great. I still prefer Sangaree Pizza. I haven’t tried La Chev since they moved, but we enjoyed it very much in the old location.
